Alas, time to go.
Ah, my links are very old. I've tried to weed them some, since I'm not quite the anime/manga freak I was, but I could use more links dearly.
So, my friends! If you want to give me the link to your pages, give me a shout. Anyone else? Give me a shout and I'll see if I can fit your link in. PLEASE keep banner sizes at 200 by 40 pixels or less in size. If I get more bandwidth later on I may be able to handle larger sizes bandwidth-wise. Sorry!
Magazines I like to visit.
These sites have usefull information and links regardless if you subscribe or not.
Toleworld Magazine This site changes every time I visit. If you enjoy Tole painting at all, try it once. :)
The Artist's MagazineThis mag has been out there for a long, LONG time. For all artists, no matter your medium, you'll find something here. :)
Watercolor Magic.com Possibly my favorite of the magazine sites; it's great for the watercolorist with many articles giving painting tutorials, tips, and ideas for all levels of the art. There are also links for other art mediums as well as other sites on watercolors.
Writer's Digest I haven't been here in forever, but should you visit you'll find lots of information and great advice for getting your thoughts down on paper and published. They also have a writing course available.
EX An onlne-only magazine for things anime-related, EX was awesome while it lasted. If you haven't been to it yet you might find a few things from thier archives. :)
Tribute links to people I knew and lost touch with.
Artistic InksThis page focuses on little known manga from Japan. Award winner of Anipike! Hi to Ronald Chan! This page has been around a while. There is till content to enjoy. :)
Sailor Moon online ParadiseThis started out as Art Sensei's page for his artwork, but now that the site is closed this is what remains. It has a LOT to offer if you're a Sailor Moon fan. Especially the Seiyuu page. Also an Anipike Award winner!
Art Instuctional Links
These links I used back when I was learning to draw manga. Sadly, I really doubt I'll be able to do panel-to-panel work, as I'm more of an illustrationist, and also just sketch quit a bit. Even so, these links helped me a lot in understanding how Japanese comic and cartoons are done.
Oh, and a little note concerning an old argument. If you are drawing in the Japanese style, and want to call your comics "Manga" then DO so. The very idea that you have to be in Japan to make manga and anime is stupid. Why? Because anime is slang for the english word "animation" and if you ask them, Japanese reply that it's a "cah-toon" [cartoon] Also, there are manga people in Japan who often use the words comic or comics, which is also English. There's even a company in Japan who call themsleves Comic Bom Bom, so yeah, call it manga if you want. ::nods::
These pages are here to help beginners with drawing. Remember that you don't have to just 'do' what these sites tell you. Only follow instructions that feel right to you. Never let anyone else's style crowd your own!
Crockman's Lair I really like this page. Good instructions, and great insight on how manga/comics work. Also real good advice at how characters are portrayed in a book.
Elfwood's FARP "Fantasy Art Rescource Project" is your free guide to fantasy&scifi art creation, history, techniques and much more...The articles found here are written by the artists of Elfwood.
Rocket's How-To Manga Rocket's page is very helpful. I personally liked the Super Deform section the best. Rocket now has a Recommended Book section for even more help! :)
Drawing and Sketching This is a HUGE page of links for Drawing and Sketching from About.com
Really, this site's so huge I should have put it up first. ^^;
About.com's Cartoon Art Links to various cartoon art references.
U aRe Drawing [R.I.P] Well, URD has been gone a long, long time.
It's a happy memory, though. Once -THE- most popular How To Draw Manga site ever, and actually the
first I found on drawing manga. I remember the days when search engines returned ONLY the URD link
for manga drawing instructions. URD is gone, but I'll leave this link up as a reminder at how
important URD was back then. Hm, if I keep non-working links I'd better make a "Memories" section, nah?
